New Norfolk – Oast Inn

Oast Inn (formerly Rosie’s Inn) located at the New Norfolk in the beautiful island state of Tasmania, Australia. New Norfolk is the third oldest town in Tasmania. It has history way back to 1807, when the first pioneers settled. Oast Inn locates in a quiet location in New Norfolk just 100 metres from the River Derwent.

Oast Inn facilitated with 13 suites. Each one or two-bedroom suites has an in-suite bathroom or spa bath. Deluxe suites have queen beds. All suites have hairdryers, television, fridge, tea/coffee making and heating. 7 of the 13 suites locate at the first floor and the rest suites sit in ground floor. Microwave is provided in a shared small kitchen area on the ground floor. All suites offering free Wi-Fi internet access and off-street parking (some undercover). Children can be accommodated as well, and there is a non-smoking policy within the hotel.

Oast Inn is surrounded by beautiful gardens filled with roses, camellias, magnolias and flowering cherry trees. From September to April each year, the garden will enter the full bloom period, when sit there it brings an immediate feeling of peace. We would definitely recommend you come here for a night or two during this period.

New Norfolk is a central location for tourism in the upper Derwent Valley and near the tourist attractions of Mount Field, Lake Pedder, Strathgordon, Gordon Dam hydroelectric site, and the South West Wilderness. The Tourist Information Centre staffed by volunteers is located in Circle Street next to the Council Chambers at the top end of High Street. New Norfolk is colloquially known as “the antiques capital of Tasmania” home to many antique shops, including various shops in or off the town’s High Street and the large complex in the historical Willow Court precinct.
